Ucla medical insurance

UC requires that ALL STUDENTS are covered by major medical health insurance while attending UCLA. To ensure this requirement is met, all students are automatically enrolled in UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP) and billed a health insurance premium plus user fees as part of regular tuition and enrollment fees.

You have 2 options below:

If you have additional questions please email [email protected], call 310-794-5613, or visit them in person on the 4th floor of the Ashe Center.

*Please note that the policy, waiver, appeal, etc. are not FEMBA- or Anderson-specific; rather, they span and cover the entire University of California system. FEMBA students must abide by all of the requirements and processes associated with it, as do all other University of California students.

Decline Coverage

DECLINE COVERAGE THROUGH UC SHIP AND WAIVE ENROLLMENT

If you have other major medical health insurance comparable to UC SHIP and do not wish to have dual coverage, you MUST submit an online waiver to opt out of UC SHIP. The waiver website will be available and accessible for the upcoming 2017-18 academic year from July 1, 2017 – September 20, 2017.

The waiver criteria changes every academic year, and waivers must be completed each academic year.

BRUINCARE: If you waive UC SHIP, you can still choose to have access to Bruincare (see website for more details).

Accept Coverage

ACCEPT COVERAGE THROUGH UC SHIP

If you want UC SHIP, no further action is necessary to enroll. Students will automatically be enrolled for fall quarter 2016 (UC SHIP is an opt out program).

All newly-admitted incoming UCLA students must provide documentation of vaccination or immunity to certain infectious diseases before Sept 25, 2017.

In addition, newly admitted incoming students at high risk for tuberculosis must provide documentation that they have been tested for tuberculosis within 6 months of entry to UCLA. For more information and to satisfy these requirements, please follow the link below:
