The Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Baton Rouge headquarters and most of the agency’s statewide network of Business and Career Solutions Centers will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24, in observance of Thanksgiving and Acadian Day. The offices will re-open at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27. If you are an unemployment claimant, you are strongly encouraged to file for weekly unemployment benefits by Tuesday, Nov. 21. Because of the banking holiday and office closure, any payment for unemployment claims filed after Tuesday, Nov. 21, may not be available until the following week. You can also call the LWC’s toll-free line at 866-783-5567 to use self-service features. However, callers will not have the option of speaking with a customer service representative on Thursday or Friday. The Claim Center will re-open at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27.
